Hello, I am Sofia
Project manager. Parent. Expat residing in Milan, Italy.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
Origins and Beginnings
Moving to Italy wasn't in our long-range plan. As with many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more tangled than they needed to be.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But slowly, routines formed. We discovered places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Created Shore Vista Quill
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- A generic travel weblog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Italy continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Milan or anywhere in Italy, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Sofia
